Reported to EPA this morning. Was told Shell informed them they were not flaring, but indeed they were. EPA stated they were going to send someone out here. Here’s the latest picture taken at 2:25 pm today. I have experienced burning in the nose and eyes. at times you can smell something, but as soon as I experience any burning or scent, I run indoors!! This is utterly ridiculous for Shell to be allowed to continually flare. I am ok, but getting angry at their neglect and the lack of concern from local media. I did call Shell 3 times, and finally got a live person in Administration who only wanted to transfer me to the Community division, which will not answer calls. I would like to know when Shell is going to start passing out masks to the community since this seems to be a regular occurrence. Not to mention the heat and ozone levels. This just can’t be good for the atmosphere, humans or any other living creature in Norco or the surrounding area.
